Dear SVA Community,
As members of the SVA Governing Council, we want to reassure all parents that the safety and well-being of your students remain our top priority, and they are in a secure learning environment.
In response to recent events, the Council has placed the Executive Director on Administrative leave until further notice. Given the sensitivity and confidentiality of personnel matters, our focus has been on ensuring due process while addressing the situation appropriately.
We want to assure our community that the Council is working on gathering facts and ensuring the safety of our students. We understand the gravity of the challenges in public education and remain committed to providing a stable and nurturing school environment.
We want to acknowledge our incredible teachers and directors for doing a commendable job holding spaces for staff to express themselves and explore their feelings in a restorative environment with the intent of healing and maintaining a space of learning and care. After a schoolwide assembly Friday, May 3, 2024, our teachers opened their doors for students to express, ask questions, and think for themselves.
Thank you for your continued support and understanding as we navigate through this challenging time together. Let us come together as a community to ensure the well-being of our students and uphold the values of justice and support. The SVA Governing Council invites you to attend a special meeting this evening, May 6, 2024 at 5:15 in the media center where some time will be dedicated to open forum for you to express yourself.

Querida comunidad SVA,
Como miembros del Consejo de Gobierno de SVA, queremos asegurarles a todos los padres que la seguridad y el bienestar de sus estudiantes siguen siendo nuestra principal prioridad y que se encuentran en un entorno de aprendizaje seguro.
En respuesta a los acontecimientos recientes, el Consejo ha colocado al Director Ejecutivo en baja administrativa hasta nuevo aviso. Dada la sensibilidad y confidencialidad de los asuntos de personal, nuestro enfoque ha sido garantizar el debido proceso mientras abordamos la situación de manera adecuada.
Queremos asegurarle a nuestra comunidad que el Consejo está trabajando para recopilar datos y garantizar la seguridad de nuestros estudiantes. Entendemos la gravedad de los desafíos en la educación pública y seguimos comprometidos a brindar un ambiente escolar estable y enriquecedor.
Queremos reconocer a nuestros increíbles maestros y directores por hacer un trabajo encomiable al brindar espacios para que el personal se exprese y explore sus sentimientos en un ambiente restaurativo con la intención de sanar y mantener un espacio de aprendizaje y atención. Después de una asamblea escolar el viernes 3 de mayo de 2024, nuestros maestros abrieron sus puertas para que los estudiantes se expresaran, hicieran preguntas y pensaran por sí mismos.
Gracias por su continuo apoyo y comprensión mientras navegamos juntos por este momento difícil. Unámonos como comunidad para garantizar el bienestar de nuestros estudiantes y defender los valores de justicia y apoyo. El Consejo de Gobierno de SVA lo invita a asistir a una reunión especial esta tarde, 6 de mayo de 2024 a las 5:15 en el Media Center, donde se dedicará algo de tiempo a un foro abierto para que usted se exprese.
